Job Description

As a Java developer, you will be responsible for building cutting edge products in the Media Space. This may be producing high quality, personalized, rich html5 widgets that visualize the state of live games for sports. It may be ingesting thousands of statistical data points for an upcoming event to curate a story about the key MVP’s on both sides. We specialize in bring contextually relevant, sports related content, to a wide audience using our proprietary Sportstream technology. You will also be tasked with mentoring more junior members of the development team, instilling high quality coding practices through peer review and pair programming.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional Java 8, Spring knowledge
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong design skills, OOP, OOD, Design Patterns
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript
  • Good knowledge of Linux and associated scripting languages ( Bash / Python )
  • Good knowledge of build systems, such as Maven / Gradle
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of Application Servers, particularly Tomcat
  • Knowledge of VCS, particularly GIT
  • Knowledge of XP practises
  • Strong motivational and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrable drive and willingness to learn

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the JVM and at least one other JVM language other than Java
  • Experience in large scale deployment and clustering
  • Knowledge of application monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of message brokering systems
