Job Description

As a Senior Java developer, you will be a key stakeholder, responsible for delivery of projects either in the Data Services team, or the Customer Marketing team. The Data services team specializes with producing high quality, rich html5 widgets that visualize the state of live games for various sports. The Customer Marketing team specialize in bring contextually relevant, sports related ads, to a wide audience using our proprietary Adserving technology. You will also be tasked with mentoring more junior members of the development team, instilling high quality coding practices through peer review and ensuring that the development team is using the correct tools for the correct job.

 Required Skills

  • Exceptional Java 8, Spring knowledge
  • Knowledge of the JVM and at least one other JVM language other than Java
  • Exceptional knowledge of JavaScript
  • Exceptional knowledge of Linux and associated scripting languages ( Bash / Python )
  • Exceptional knowledge of build systems, such as Maven / Gradle
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of message brokering systems
  • Experience in large scale deployment and clustering
  • Knowledge of application monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of Application Servers, particularly Tomcat
  • Strong design skills, OOP, OOD, Design Patterns
  • Knowledge of VCS, particularly GIT
  • Knowledge of XP practises
  • Strong motivational and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrable drive and willingness to learn
