Position Overview

The Executive Director Global Collateral Management position will play a critical role in enhancing the Global Collateral Management function. Support the VP, Global Collateral Management, in managing and optimizing the company’s collateral operations on a global scale. Support the development and implementation of global collateral and new business strategies. Support projects across Global Collateral Management as well as new business initiatives and collateral transaction approvals. Develop comprehensive reporting frameworks to disseminate critical information to senior management and key stakeholders in support of our collateral strategies. The role will promote collaboration across Structured Finance, Investments, and Treasury, as well as with our Business and other Corporate partners throughout the organization while fostering a culture and environment to achieve excellence and innovation. This role requires a thorough understanding and experience in collateral management processes, reinsurance, and/or investment principles.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with VP, Collateral Management to work with various Corporate and Business internal stakeholders to develop and enhance collateral management capabilities to continue to unlock enterprise value.
  • Support Collateral and Liquidity Committee (CLC) deal approval process. Enhance new deal collateral analysis and supporting documentation to strengthen COMPANY’s negotiation position, increase speed of execution, and enhance collateral risk management.
  • Lead and enhance collateral stress testing and contingency planning capabilities and documentation to proactively provide frequent, transparent communication and reporting with lines of business, BSOC, and internal stakeholders regarding collateral impacts of pipeline and emerging risks.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of collateral management systems and tools to support required growth in collateral use. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Global Collateral Management Wiki/SharePoint.
  • Support the execution of collateral optimization strategies globally to advance and support enterprise growth strategies.
  • Assist in special projects, committees, and meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, with emphasis in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance including 5+ years' experience in collateral management, investment, risk management, or related field within the insurance or financial services industry

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • 15+ years’ experience in life reinsurance
  • 10+ years in Investments, Finance, and/or Accounting
  • Experience with collateral management

  • Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate international projects across multiple time-zones
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (< 20%)
  • Advanced technological skills with Microsoft products

Preferred:

  • Collateral management knowledge (e.g., derivatives, securities lending, repo, reinsurance trust, etc.)
  • Fixed income investing knowledge
  • Trust and/or Treasury operations knowledge
  • Advanced skills in change management
  • Strong business analysis experience
  • Advanced data analysis skills
