Schedule:

  • Full time days, Monday – Friday, 24x7 oversight of SPD Operations

 

The Role you will play:

As a Sterile Processing Manager, you will manage activities related to sterile processing. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all processes. You will oversee multiple sites and manage large teams to ensure industry standards are followed.

 

What You'll Do

  • You'll oversee sterile processing, ensure equipment is decontaminated and sterilized efficiently, and manage surgical supply purchase and distribution.
  • You will direct your team, making recommendations on hiring, firing, reviews, training, delegation, and troubleshooting.
  • You will need to ensure that supplies, instruments, and equipment are restocked accurately and timely. You also must clean specialty carts daily.
  • You will oversee preventive maintenance of equipment as per guidelines to maintain excellent standards. Ensure all equipment is working.
  • The position involves close collaboration with surgeons and other departments, verifying that set-ups for instrumentation are accurate and appropriate.
  • You will help create communications, training, and onboarding programs for product use and services.
  • You will help develop policies for sterile processing to control infection risks among patients and staff. You must monitor staff compliance with regulatory requirements during the decontamination process.

 

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

  • Good understanding of medical supplies and instruments, as well as how hospitals and clinics operate.
  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques.
  • Familiarity with various types of sterilizers and cleaning equipment, and ability to ensure their efficient operation.
  • Experience with the Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sterilization process and Spill Plan Alarm System, if relevant.
  • Exceptional written and spoken communication capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with excellent time management abilities.
  • Customer service-focused mindset. Ability to communicate professionally with healthcare providers, insurance companies, physicians, and all staff within and outside the company.
  • A deep understanding of relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an associate degree or, alternatively, 2 years of relevance in work experience above the minimum requirement.
  • Minimum 3 years of prior work experience in a similar field.
  • Must have one of the following: LVN or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Board Sterile Pricing&Dist (CBSPD) or Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT) or Sterile Processing Mgmt Certification (CSPM) or -- Certified Reg Central Service Tech through IAHCSMM (CRCST).

    Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years of applicable experience
  • Certified Healthcare Leader through HSPA or Sterile Processing Management Certification (CSPM)
