Our client, a multi-billion private, ~50+ year old company that is continually growing and innovating in varied markets has a rare opportunity in the S. La. market for a degreed engineer who loves combining their technical education/experience with cultivating relationships and solving their customer's operational technical challenges.

The company is seeking a Technical Advisor/Sales Engineer.  The opportunity is rare in that once people join the company the combination of the reputation, widespread industry use of the products/services of this well-known and respected company, the company appreciating their people, very competitive compensation and work/life balance results in extremely low turnover.  The position is open due to growth opportunities in the market.

Requirements for success include:

  • Bachelors in engineering
  • 3+ years' experience, ideally in technical sales, or excellent engineering experience with a love of bringing answers to customer's problems while developing one on one relationships with people
  • Technical and or technical sales experience preferably in the refining and or chemical industries
  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed including time management skills to set up and consistently execute consistent marketing/meeting customer plans
  • Passion for meeting people in person to create relational knowledge of both the client and our client's company/solutions
  • Experience to combine both relational and technical expertise while meeting with customers, i.e., company has internal subject matter experts, but ideally having good technical acumen bears fruit to answer technical questions when meeting with customer and not have to frequently redirect to other experts/reset additional meetings
  • Communication skills-active listening to achieve understanding/appreciation for others and expressing yourself in clear and well articulated fashion
  • Customer Service-Anticipating and delivering professionalism with customers
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required
