JOB SUMMARY
The Platform Architect is a key team member shaping and supporting the enterprise data & machine learning platform. This self-driven individual collaborates within a federated team environment, advising on best architectural practices, balancing individual use cases with overall enterprise principles. The ideal candidate possesses a background in computer science, DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, and platform automation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead creation and evolution of the data & ML platform.
- Develop a solutions roadmap for strategic objectives.
- Balance individual needs with enterprise architectural principles.
- Ensure non-overlapping platforms and tools.
- Provide guidance on tradeoffs between speed and technical debt.
- Monitor and recommend new technologies for architectural enhancement.
- Design procedures for reviewing and integrating new components.
- Build and maintain a core data platform for ease of use.
- Ensure responsible data handling and adherence to privacy practices.
- Formulate solution plans and guide automated delivery pipelines.
- Conduct tool analysis, implement automation frameworks.
- Hands-on prototyping of tools, libraries, and frameworks.
- Evaluate and improve developer productivity and automation techniques.
- Ensure fault-tolerant, highly available Data/ML platform.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science with 8+ years of experience.
- Technical expertise in AI, modern data architectures, microservices, cloud-native design, and relevant platforms.
- Experience with Databricks or similar tools, AWS or Azure, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, SQL databases, and API management platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Agile Methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage complexity and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications in Application Development, agile methods, machine learning, and relevant data platforms are advantageous.
