Strategic Initiatives Manager

A key Optimus client is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Strategic Initiatives Manager to join a dynamic team in the London office. This role offers the opportunity to be part of our strategic initiatives team, supporting the operational aspects of the commercial business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support of strategic initiatives
  • Expanding and onboarding  trading businesses into new markets and products
  • Manage significant corporate projects
  • Recommend and execute on new business implementation and market entry
  • Manage new business and new asset implementation efforts
  • Collaborate across all functional areas (Trading, Risk, P&L, Tax, Technology, Ops, Accounting)
  • Establish operational risk and control processes for new business activities.
  • Connect new initiatives with existing global processes

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in commercial business development, risk, trade support, or operations in the physical commodity trading industry.
  • Expertise in one or more physical commodity products, preferrably Power, Natural Gas or Oil.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and initiatives independently.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with ETRM systems preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, commercial mindset, and integrity.
