A key Optimus client is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Strategic Initiatives Manager to join a dynamic team in the London office. This role offers the opportunity to be part of our strategic initiatives team, supporting the operational aspects of the commercial business.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support of strategic initiatives
- Expanding and onboarding trading businesses into new markets and products
- Manage significant corporate projects
- Recommend and execute on new business implementation and market entry
- Manage new business and new asset implementation efforts
- Collaborate across all functional areas (Trading, Risk, P&L, Tax, Technology, Ops, Accounting)
- Establish operational risk and control processes for new business activities.
- Connect new initiatives with existing global processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in commercial business development, risk, trade support, or operations in the physical commodity trading industry.
- Expertise in one or more physical commodity products, preferrably Power, Natural Gas or Oil.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and initiatives independently.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Previous experience with ETRM systems preferred.
- Strong work ethic, commercial mindset, and integrity.
