Job Summary:

Exciting management opportunity in Tax supporting the organization in effective tax planning, reporting, and compliance with a heavy emphasis on Sales & Use tax. This key position within the finance discipline involves overseeing a team of third-party support members to deliver timely, compliant, and optimized tax services for commodity operations. The ideal professional also has skills or interest in direct tax in addition to indirect tax.

Functions:

  • Offer strategic insights to management regarding tax implications and compliance affecting Our Client's diverse businesses.
  • Lead, guide, and foster the growth and learning around key tax issues.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of monthly/quarterly compliance filings for multiple states, ensuring punctual submissions and payments across various tax categories.
  • Prepare necessary annual registrations, deposits, and associated filings.
  • Manage the annual preparation of property tax renditions and filings.
  • Collaborate and oversee external consultants handling direct tax filings for Federal and State, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
  • Guarantee the completion of essential filings for tax registrations and exemptions in states and jurisdictions as required.
  • Provide valuable support to the quarterly provision process by preparing tax workpapers and forecasts.
  • Deliver timely responses to departments, offering internal tax advisory services to ensure tax efficiency.
  • Lead and oversee the management of tax audits.
  • Execute monthly general ledger and tax return reconciliations with precision.
  • Fulfill any additional duties assigned to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the tax function.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of tax experience, preferably in organizations with operations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Technical Competency: Solid expertise in both indirect tax, including Commodity Tax issues.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills for effective communication across all management levels.
  • Independence: Proven ability to work independently, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong proficiency in tax research and analytical skills.
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities.
