Senior Business Analyst

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to support the North American Natural Gas business strategy. This role will focus on system enhancements, process improvements, and functional solutions to align business priorities with technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and other analysts to define and document requirements for natural gas business functionality.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and validate proposed technical solutions.
  • Analyze data integrity issues, resolve abnormalities, and support system testing before upgrades and new implementations.
  • Lead projects aimed at improving system capabilities, eliminating inefficiencies, and enabling additional revenue opportunities.
  • Provide expertise to functional user groups, ensuring effective and efficient use of the Openlink Endur system.
  • Drive solutions that are flexible, user-friendly, and aligned with strategic business needs.
  • Support potential future expansions of the Openlink Endur system and related modules.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and system integration efforts across business units.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Process Analyst.
  • Experience with natural gas trading systems such as Endur, ETRM, and logistics solutions.
  • Strong background in writing Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Detailed Designs.
  • IT-related experience in the Energy Industry or Energy Trading environments.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • North American Natural Gas and NGLs industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Openlink modules including Scheduling (gMotion), Deal Modeling, Position & P&L Reporting, and Settlements.
  • Familiarity with structured software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau or Alteryx.
  • Working knowledge of P&L calculations, Parametric VaR, and system integration specifications.
  • SQL skills and understanding of relational database structures.
  • Exposure to Middle Office, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and transformational change initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across front, middle, and back-office functions.
