A key Optimus client needs a Power Trader with NYISO experience to focus on managing and optimizing energy generation and load asset portfolios in bilateral and/or RTO markets. The Power trader will create short-term strategies for submitting generation offers, placing load bids, handling bilateral transactions, and managing transmission/congestion products for both client-based and proprietary positions. The position involves working closely with dispatch teams, planning coordinators, and internal staff to make economically sound decisions for short-term, real-time unit issues and intra-day planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy industry, specifically in power trading or a related trading floor function, is required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is essential. An MBA or another advanced degree is an advantage.

• Experience with NYISO is mandatory, with experience in other northeastern ISO markets being beneficial.

• Knowledge of trading financial energy products is preferred

• Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is required, and programming skills in Visual Basic or Python are highly desirable.

CERTIFICATIONS

• NERC certification is advantageous.

• National Futures Association Series 3 certification is an asset.

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus.
