The Power Risk Analyst will provide critical analysis and communication of risk exposures related to portfolio assets, operations, and trading activities. This role is a key contributor in identifying and quantifying financial risk, preparing weekly Risk Committee materials, and serving as the primary risk liaison for ETRM platform support.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily risk analysis, valuation, and reporting for power market trading positions; calculate and monitor VaR, MtM, and conduct stress testing.
Collaborate with trading, operations, and middle/back-office teams to validate strategies, ensure compliance with hedge policies, and maintain accurate risk data flows.
Lead preparation of weekly Risk Committee reports, including portfolio exposure, P&L attribution, and limit monitoring; provide market insights and scenario analysis.
Manage ETRM system support for the risk team, ensuring accurate trade capture, valuation consistency, and system enhancements.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in risk analytics or market operations within the power sector or energy trading, with strong knowledge of U.S. ISO markets (PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE).
Proficiency with ETRM systems, advanced Excel, SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau); experience with VAR and risk modeling preferred.
Strong communication skills, detail-oriented, and adept at managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced trading environment.
