Business Manager - LNG Projects

Optimus - Houston, TX

A key Optimus client located in the Galleria area is looking for an experienced Business Manager to manage, oversee, and support all activities for their LNG projects. This person will interact with US and international stakeholders on projects that are in development, construction, or operational phase as well as monitoring project performance and compliance with the different contracts involved. The client is in-office 3 days a week.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business administration field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Technical/Vocational in engineering or technical training preferred
  • 10 years of experience in the oil/gas or power industry required. LNG experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • 7-10 years of related finance experience within financial analysis, asset management, business administration, and/or complex energy industry project agreements/business structures required.
  • Understanding of key drivers that affect financial performance, commercial and joint venture agreements, and governance frameworks
  • Ability to influence and build consensus among different stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand the nuances of projects and to negotiate and manage complex commercial and financial contractual transactions.
  • Strong understanding of project risks and their potential impact on financial performance.
  • Ability to multi-task and respond rapidly to requests for frequent changes.
  • Ability to manage and develop others.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Communication and presentations skills.
  • Bilingual: English-Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively oversees, manages and monitors project progress to support positive financial results
  • To continually interface with business groups from Mexcio and US to ensure delivery
  • Keeps the project team, business unit teams and management up-to-date with key information regarding the projects.
  • Responsible for developing and administering project/joint venture implementation plans to ensure successful transition of projects from the development phase to the execution/construction phase.
  • Manages and produces project documentation when needed.
