Our office is based in Los Angeles though we are currently operating 100% remote and aiming for a hybrid work model. We stay connected through regular stand-up meetings via video conferencing, channel-based messaging, and email.


As our ninth employee, you will become a loyal partner in the next stage of Copper Cow Coffee’s growth as our VP of Marketing! We are hiring a dependable digital marketing leader who is analytically minded, metrics driven, and ideally, obsessed with coffee! As VP of Marketing you will oversee the coordination of tactics and strategy of digital marketing operations for Copper Cow Coffee -- including our e-commerce site (Shopify), paid social (Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads), email (Klayvio), SEO, Amazon, affiliate, and brand ambassador channels.

This key role will have a special focus in driving efforts to scale our quickly growing subscription Coffee Club service. A working knowledge of web design and development is required to oversee and support activities as need, though the work will be performed by additional staff and consultants.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working closely (and meeting regularly) with CEO, marketing and content team, partners, agencies, and vendors to successfully launch, monitor and optimize marketing campaigns
  • Leading and implementing content strategy, developing cooperative relationships, and creating messaging and customer communications
  • Managing budgets and forecasts of paid marketing efforts
  • Collaborating with content and marketing team on content to align with brand initiatives and business goals (ensure proper relevancy and alignment across all advertising networks)
  • Working across UX/UI and development partners to better orient Copper Cow Coffee’s acquisition and retention efforts around our subscription Coffee Club service.
  • Owning and optimizing the user funnel, bringing a user from Awareness → Interest → Purchase
  • Integration and optimization of email and mobile marketing communications
  • Performance assessments of all digital marketing campaigns against ROI and KPIs
  • Managing external agencies and consultants for web properties, consumer communications, and digital advertising platforms

Core Qualifications

  • BS/MS in marketing and/or related field
  • 8+ years in a senior marketing role
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

Technical Skills

  • E-commerce and digital marketing
  • Working knowledge of web development, including SEO/SEM, landing pages and user funnels
  • A/B and multivariate sales channel testing
  • Online marketplace, including product subscription services

Additional Experience

  • Market channel and target audience identification and diversification
  • Creating engaging content that informs and motivates consumers
  • Scaling e-commerce paid acquisition strategies
  • Coordinating online marketing and advertising campaigns
    • Startup and/or CPG background a plus
