DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

OPPORTUNITY The Business Development Director role offers an exciting and incentivizing opportunity to grow your career with a rapidly growing organization (revenue and capacity expansion). This newly created role will report to and collaborate closely with the CEO of Earth Lab Botanicals and Earth Lab Holdings, and manage one direct report (Sales Executive). Compensation will include a base salary + commission. Benefits include:

Earth Lab Holdings will provide all of the tools and equipment an employee needs to be successful in their role including computer, a cell phone stipend, and expense reimbursement (with prior expense authorization). Other equipment may be provided upon request.

SEEKING We are looking to add a strategic and dynamic industry expert to collaborate and grow with. The Business Development Director should be bold enough to take calculated risks while stewarding the heritage and quality of the brand. This leader will possess empathic leadership abilities in order to engage, develop and grow a team of sales executives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

  • Build and manage a long-term sales pipeline and funnel
  • Build lead generation strategy via trade shows, SEO, marketing
  • Monitor the Company’s industry competitors, new products, market conditions and marketing strategies
  • Seek out and report competitive information to effectively position products and services

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new business from both existing and new B2B customers including retail and brands; objectives and budget driven
  • Conduct prospecting communications phone calls, video calls and face-to-face meetings daily
  • Nurture relationships with existing customers and key decision makers at prospect accounts
  • Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally.
  • Seek new and innovative ways to present our products and up-sell to customers.

Financial

  • Develop and effectively manage sales goals and forecasts for self and team
  • Achieve budgets, sales and margin targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Organizational

  • Track all pipeline and account activity utilizing Salesforce CRM
  • Prepare presentations for internal stakeholders and clients
  • Make product suggestions to Quality Assurance based on prospect and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and CEO to help build our brand.

Leadership

    • Effectively lead and coach current employee
    • Conducts ongoing training on current industry trends, ingredients and R&D
    • Recruits, hires, onboards and trains new employees

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Communication, and/or any equivalent of education and experience that demonstrates expertise in customer engagement.
  • 5 years industry experience in sales for ingredients, brands or contract manufacturing OR on the retail side as a distributor, buyer or category manager
  • Experienced team leader

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel (15-25%) may include visiting key customers, attending trade shows and guiding tours of manufacturing facility in beautiful Creswell, OR
  • Position requires working in a facility that processes a wide variety of plants that may have strong odors.
  • Facility uses bleach and other cleaning products that may possess pungent odors.
  • May be required to walk, bend, stand, and lift up to 20 lbs. on a continuous basis.
