Role Overview

As the O&M Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our client’s solar installations operate safely, effectively, and at peak performance. In this position, you will:

  • Provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance across solar sites.
  • Perform system commissioning during and post-installation to maintain optimal solar performance.
  • Work independently, managing a daily travel schedule to multiple project sites across California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on various types of inverters, ensuring operational consistency and warranty compliance.
  • Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve system issues, including telecom and network equipment, updating service logs accurately.
  • Customer and Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure seamless system performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to company and industry safety standards, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
  • Time Management: Independently organize and prioritize tasks, meeting timelines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-2 years in solar or electrical systems, plus 2+ years in construction or related fields. IT or networking skills are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting PV systems, telecom, and networking equipment. Knowledge of single-line diagrams and schematics is essential.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in extreme conditions.
  • Travel-Ready: A clean driving record, with the ability and willingness to travel 100% daily within California. Overnight stays provided for distant assignments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: Starting at $28 to $35 per hour.
  • Travel Allowances: $600 monthly vehicle and gas allowance, $50 monthly cell phone allowance.
