The Role:
As a Sr. Estimator, you'll be an integral part of a team of 7 estimators reporting to the Vice President of Estimating. This position is critical due to the company's growth and the increasing volume of business and bids. You will join a team that includes 2 Senior Estimators and 5 mid and junior-level estimators, becoming the 3rd Senior Estimator.
This is an in office role and the Sr. Estimator can work from either the Livermore or Morgan Hill location.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Quantity Take-offs: Accurately determine the quantities of materials needed for projects.
- Determine Initial Production Rates: Establish production rates based on project requirements.
- Interpret Engineering Drawings and Specifications: Understand work requirements through detailed analysis of technical documents.
- Review Vendor or Contractor Bids: Ensure bids are fair and reasonable.
- Adjust Project Schedules: Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Estimate Material Costs and Labor Hours: Calculate the resources needed to complete projects.
- Ensure Quality Standards: Review finished products to maintain high-quality standards.
- Document Project Details: Keep meticulous records of contracts, bids, and correspondence.
- Solicit Pricing: Obtain material and subcontractor pricing.
- Establish Preliminary Project Schedules: Develop initial timelines for project completion.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: 7+ years of estimating experience, with 2-3 years focused on Multi-Family, Exterior, Drywall, Apartment, and Reconstruction projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Trade Background: Experience in a building trade such as framing, siding, or exterior work.
- Code Upgrade Knowledge: Familiarity with code upgrade requirements.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $115-130K per year.
- Benefits: Comprehensive package covering 50% for the employee.
