Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope, labor, and equipment costs.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in preparing unit price and self-perform estimates.
• Collect and organize subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure comprehensive and accurate bids.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project specifics.
• Assist in the preparation of bid packages and analysis of subcontractor proposals.
• Use historical data and company standards to enhance estimate accuracy.
• Collaborate with the team to identify risks, qualifications, and assumptions in bids.
• Support compliance with diversity and permitting requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

• Education/Experience: Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with estimating software (e.g., B2W Estimate) is a plus.
• Construction Knowledge: Understanding of construction methods, heavy highway projects, and DOT processes.
• Soft Skills: Meticulous, collaborative, organized, analytical, and eager to grow in the heavy civil construction field.
• Bonus Experience: Exposure to bridge, foundation, or heavy highway construction; previous hands-on construction or estimating experience is highly valued.

At a Glance

• Location: Mercer, PA, with occasional travel for site visits and pre-bid meetings.
• Compensation: $65,000 base salary, or commensurate with experience.
• Schedule: Full-time role with standard business hours.
