Associate Asset Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC
Hybrid: In office 2-3 Days
We're looking for an Associate Asset Manager to join a high-performing team focused on optimizing asset performance and driving profitability within a dynamic industry. This is a unique opportunity to act as a key commercial relationship manager, providing strategic analysis and contributing to critical decision-making.
In this role, you'll be responsible for routine and ad hoc analysis, implementing asset optimization strategies, and executing various financial and commercial assignments to achieve company objectives. You'll analyze information from internal and external sources, develop major workstream, prepare and analyze projects and markets, conduct scenario modeling, and communicate results to diverse stakeholders.
We're seeking a professional who is knowledgeable about renewable markets (Solar & Wind Farms) and can provide strategic analysis to maximize project profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to accuracy, be highly detail-oriented, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement founded on integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall performance of a portfolio of operating assets, including developing and executing plans to optimize financial performance.
- Prepare data and scorecards demonstrating value creation and progress toward goals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with partners, customers, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate settlements on disputes related to commercial agreements and other stakeholders.
- Develop and refine market and regulatory strategies.
- Lead or participate in special projects, including process improvement initiatives.
- Support strategic decision-making related to assets, including hedging, operations, and maintenance.
- Identify opportunities and analyze their financial impact to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate strategically with internal and external stakeholders to enhance generating asset profitability, including optimizing asset interaction with energy markets.
- Monitor and analyze issues impacting operations, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Lead value-added projects such as supporting leadership in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset optimization, restructurings, and building relationships with off-takers and other key stakeholders.
- Create presentations for senior management.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
- Five (5) or more years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in a related field.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data modeling skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in finance, business, accounting, or other related disciplines.
- Professional designation such as CPA and/or CFA.
- Experience in the Renewable Energy Market is preferred.
- Experience with complex power purchase agreements, virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs), and contracts for differences (CFDs).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and foster strong relationships with teammates and business partners.
