CONTEXT: Our client, a premier industrial electric contractor, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Service Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage/data/cable systems, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients both verbally and in writing. This role requires excellent Excel spreadsheet proficiency and strong computer skills, along with experience in managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the service department's daily operations, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Communicate professionally with clients through phone calls, emails, and meetings to understand their needs and address any concerns.
  • Prepare and manage documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects and service requests.
  • Utilize Excel to track service metrics, manage schedules, and analyze data to improve service efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the successful execution of service projects and installations.
  • Train and mentor team members on customer service best practices and technical knowledge related to low voltage/data/cable systems.
  • Be available for after-hours work, including responding to technician and customer phone calls in the evenings and the occasional after-hour site visits.
  • Travel occasionally across Texas for client meetings and site visits as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in low voltage/data/cable systems.
  • Strong background in customer service and client relationship management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications; ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Experience in managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time across Texas.
