LOCATION: Midland, TX

CONTEXT: Our client seeks an experienced Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service oilfield equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with rental equipment, including MQ Power generators, JLG manlifts and forklifts, trash pumps, and Allmand light towers. Certification in relevant areas is preferred. This position reports to the service manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine inspections of oil and gas and rental equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems utilizing diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and appropriate equipment.
  • Perform repairs, adjustments, or component replacements to restore equipment functionality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations during maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and technicians to address and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used, service reports, and equipment history.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and best practices in equipment maintenance.
  • Report equipment deficiencies or potential risks to the Service Manager.
  • Complete all maintenance and repair tasks promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment with proper tool and equipment management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic, specifically with rental equipment such as MQ Power generators, JLG manlifts and forklifts, trash pumps, and Allmand light towers.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and components specific to oil and gas and rental equipment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Competence in using a range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of industry safety procedures and protocols.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical stamina and capability to work in demanding environments, including confined spaces, heights, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel to various worksites or client locations as required.
