LOCATION: Converse, LA

CONTEXT: We are seeking an experienced Local Service Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations, service technician performance, and equipment readiness at our service yard. This leadership position requires expertise in HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems, along with a strong background in service coordination. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in equipment maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting, as well as the ability to manage and mentor a team while ensuring safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily operations of the service yard, ensuring that all equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for use while adhering to safety standards.
• Manage and mentor service technicians, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and consistent skill development.
• Coordinate service technician schedules to ensure adequate coverage for equipment installations, maintenance, and repairs. Ensure resources are aligned with project timelines.
• Provide hands-on technical support when needed, troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, and performing service duties as required.
• Review service tickets and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) to ensure accuracy and completeness, and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted within 24 hours.
• Ensure safety compliance and provide support in managing incidents, conducting investigations, and maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables in the service yard, and collaborate with the Global Fleet Manager for equipment maintenance and repair needs.
• Monitor service technician performance, reviewing timecards, service records, and billing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission of work orders and invoices.
• Manage yard cleanliness and safety by ensuring that equipment is properly stored, the yard is free of hazards, and waste is disposed of in accordance with safety protocols.
• Foster clear and consistent communication with other Local Service Managers, the Operations Manager, and the Global Fleet Manager to maximize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Assist with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures that improve team performance and safety.
• Support inventory management by ensuring the timely ordering of parts, supplies, and repairs, and by reviewing vendor invoices and purchase orders.
• Ensure all technicians are equipped with necessary supplies, including safety equipment, water, and refreshments, and maintain yard infrastructure, including trucks and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience as a Drill Cool Service Technician or in a similar service role.
• Hands-on expertise in HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Prior experience in managing a team of technicians, with a focus on equipment maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions with a positive attitude and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with safety protocols, incident management, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and direction to team members.
• Competency in using service management and billing software (e.g., Spectrum, OneDrive).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Experience working with equipment operations in industrial or construction environments.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and scheduling tools.
• Prior experience with resource planning software or project management platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment, working in various weather conditions, and performing hands-on service tasks as required.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and with power tools and heavy machinery.
