INDUSTRY: Facilities Management

LOCATION: Nacogdoches, TX

CONTEXT: Our client, an industry leader in facilities management, is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician. This individual will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment to ensure its optimal performance and safety. This role supports clinical staff and contributes to the effective operation of medical devices within the healthcare facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides and documents, under supervision, preventive, predictive, metered, interval-based and corrective maintenance on biomedical equipment for the hospital.
  
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment to maintain code compliance.
  
• Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on the proper use and operation of medical equipment.
  
• Ensure all equipment meets regulatory standards and internal policies. Maintain accurate records of equipment service histories, repairs, and inspections.
  
• Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and impact on patient care.
  
• Follow safety protocols and quality assurance procedures to uphold high standards of patient safety and equipment reliability.
  
• Work closely with other engineering technicians, clinical staff, and external vendors to address equipment-related issues and support departmental objectives.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ideal candidate will be familiar with STERIS equipment or willingness to train/learn STERIS equipment.
  
• 1+ years of formal training, or education, beyond high school: in the service and maintenance of biomedical equipment; may include military training on electronic or medical equipment.
• Must possess a clean driving record.
  
• Healthcare/Hospital experience preferred.
  
• Recent experience in a healthcare BioMed/Clinical Engineering environment is required.
• On-call availability is required.
