CONTEXT: Our client, a leading provider of data center infrastructure services, is seeking an experienced and motivated Data Center Foreman to join their team in San Antonio. This position is essential for overseeing and leading structured cabling and low voltage installations in data center environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing teams on data center projects and a strong understanding of the technical and operational requirements needed to execute complex installations on time and within budget.

The Data Center Foreman will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of workmanship, safety, and efficiency on-site while mentoring a team of technicians. This position requires strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and a proven ability to manage large-scale data center projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and supervise a team of technicians in the installation and maintenance of structured cabling and low voltage systems within a data center environment.
• Oversee the execution of cabling infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards, blueprints, and best practices.
• Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the project manager and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any issues that arise on-site.
• Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a positive work environment with an emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to structured cabling, low voltage systems, and other data center infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work completed, equipment used, and any incidents or safety concerns.
• Monitor and report on the progress of the project, ensuring that timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints are met.
• Assist in site preparation and ensure readiness for installation, including material staging and equipment setup.
• Maintain a strong focus on efficiency, working to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a foreman or leadership role within a data center environment.
• Hands-on experience with structured cabling and low voltage installations.
• Strong background in data center operations and infrastructure, with the ability to manage teams on large-scale projects (teams of at least 10).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a commitment to providing exceptional service and quality.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to cabling systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices related to data center construction and cabling.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
