LOCATION: Gonzales, TX
CONTEXT: We are seeking experienced Cable Installation Technicians with leadership experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of CAT6 cables. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience pulling cables, terminating jacks, labeling, testing, and leading small teams to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and route CAT6 cables through various environments, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Terminate cables onto jacks, patch panels, and other hardware with accuracy and precision.
- Label cables properly to ensure easy identification for future maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform testing of cable installations to ensure performance and reliability meet standards.
- Lead small teams of technicians, ensuring efficient and high-quality execution of installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cable connections or performance.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of completed work and any issues identified during installation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns during the installation process.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices during all installation activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in cable installation, specifically with CAT6 cables.
- Experience leading small teams of technicians or supervising installations.
- Familiarity with cable termination, labeling standards, and testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Physical ability to pull and route cables in various environments, including tight spaces and elevated areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification or training in cable installation or related fields.
- Experience with additional cable types (e.g., fiber optics).
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
