LOCATION: Midland, TX

CONTEXT:  Our client, an oil and gas services and rental equipment company, is seeking an experienced Mechanic  to maintain, repair, and service oilfield equipment. This includes performing inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring the equipment is in optimal working condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform regular inspections of oil and gas equipment to identify any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct repairs, adjustments, or replacements of faulty parts or components to restore the equipment's functionality.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry regulations while working on equipment repairs.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, engineers, and technicians to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, service reports, and equipment history. 
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques related to oil and gas equipment maintenance.
  • Report any identified equipment deficiencies or potential risks to the supervisor or relevant personnel.
  • Ensure that all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed within specified timelines to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper storage and handling of tools and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components used in oil and gas equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Good understanding of safety procedures and protocols in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in challenging environments, including tight spaces, heights, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to worksites or client locations as required.
