Master Electrician
Location: Charlotte NC 28201
Responsibilities:
The Master Electrician works under the Construction Manager and leads the Construction team in the installation of controls, robotics, and systems in client’s production setting. The Master Electrician will be responsible for meeting budgeted performance parameters (time, quality and cost) as established. From time to time, the Master Electrician may be asked to complete similar tasks, not directly related to a specific new project installation to maintain client’s systems or machines in client’s production facilities.
Essential Duties

- Oversee the electrical installation field component and ensure that all projects are in compliance with national, state and local codes
- Successfully plan, permit, schedule and execute the installation of the projects and maintain the proper company documents for each project
- Interpret line drawings and product literature
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair systems (robotics and industrial controls) in existing client equipment.
- Interacts with the customer with a professional demeanor
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices [Recommend to be Deleted; It is redundant and replaced by standard language that follows below.]
- Provides leadership and support to the project staff and ensure quality and timely completion of projects
- Relay to manager or appropriate sales personnel field intelligence and needs to the customer
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
- Drive and work from service van
- Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. Adhere to company policies set out in the employee handbook.

Supervisory Duties:
The Master Electrician will act a as the lead Electrician. As a Lead, the Master Electrician assumes all the responsibilities of a team member including the ability to work well in a team setting, communicating, and supporting the project by the application of their unique duties and skills. In addition, as Lead, the Master Electrician will have limited supervisory responsibilities of scheduling and orientation/coaching of team members.
Education and Experience Required
- Master Electrician License
- Minimum of 5 years electrical experience
General Qualifications
- Strong math and trigonometry skills
- Perform electrical repairs such as electrical restoration, re-routing and detecting faulty electrical problems
- Ability to multi-task, manage time and prioritize projects to meet required deadlines
- Organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of initiative; work without supervision
- Must remain drug free at all times
- Business computer literacy skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database etc.)
- Experience with automated equipment development in one or more of the following industries; a) Brewing & Distilling, b) Packaging, c) Paper and Pulp, c) Heat Treating, d) Food and Consumables, e) Utilities, f) Engine Manufacturing, g) Batch Mixing
- Project Management skills a plus.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.as applied to internal documentation as well as direct interaction with internal Managers, Sr. Management, and outside suppliers/clients.
