DevOps / Release Engineer

Prediktive - LatinAmerica, LATAM

We are looking for a DevOps/Release Engineer based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, a massive camera and social network company based in Los Angeles, California.

Our Client believes that reinventing the camera represents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Their camera is used by over 150 million people every day to watch Stories from friends, see events from around the world, and explore expertly-curated content from top publishers. They are a passionate team working hard to build the best platform in the world for communication and storytelling.

The person in this role will be part of the control center, helping make critical decisions that impact millions of users around the world. Will also collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Operations, Communications and Leadership to create & drive release process improvements that rapidly deliver reliable, high quality software.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the transition from standard Release Engineering practices to modern DevOps ones
  • Manage all aspects of the internal and production app release process
  • Continuously assess risk factors to Production users and actively drive mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and provide regular status reports to leadership and the organization
  • Measure, monitor and report on key release metrics weekly and ad-hoc as needed
  • Write operational runbooks and documentation to support the Release team as needed
  • Research new technologies and release management methodologies for application in internal tooling improvements

Requirements

  • Advanced Level of English
  • Experience managing mobile application releases and a deep understanding of release management principles
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Fastlane, CircleCi, Puppet or equivalent tools
  • Experience deploying apps in the Cloud (GCP or AWS are preferred)
  • Solid experience working with Linux
  • Experience coding in at least one programming or scripting language
  • Experience migrating monolithic apps into distributed microservices ones
  • Experience working with App Store Connect and Google Dev Console
  • Experience with HockeyApp or another app distribution tool
  • Experience working cross-functionally with globally distributed teams that have differing business priorities
  • Experience making critical decisions for complex technical issues in real time, considering timelines and urgency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute

Bonus Points

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields
  • DevSecOps Experience
