Supply Chain Manager

Position Title: Supply Chain Manager Department: Operations

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Date: March 3rd, 2022

Salary: Total compensation with bonus $120K-$130K

 The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the Warehouse and Purchasing Departments. This role will lead, manage, and hold accountable both people and processes in an effort to streamline, expedite, and improve Vanns’ inventory position and material handling throughout the supply chain. Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, and project management skills are critical for success.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, and R&D teams

- Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable both people and process in the warehouse and purchasing departments

- Manage inventory levels (both physical and digital) and create purchase orders for raw materials to accommodate Vanns’ production schedule and satisfy customer requirements

- Monitor demand sources to respond quickly to material requirements

- Understand and build upon the current supplier base to strengthen supply chain resilience through the development of alternate sourcing and contingency plans

- Maintain strong, positive supplier relationships

- Control cost through strategic buying, minimizing on-hand inventory levels, increasing inventory turns, consolidating freight, negotiating price, and contracting key components

- Manage the overall organization and flow of materials in Vanns’ warehouse including Receiving, Storage, Internal Transfers, and Shipping

- Propose, Develop, and Implement procedures, tools, and systems to improve communication, information flow, and process automation

- Must be responsible for food safety and report any food safety or quality issues to appropriate personnel.

- Trending and Forecasting

- Technical skills in excel, database, ERP, WMS, and warehouse scanning software

- Strong verbal and written communication

- Basic project management

- Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) a plus

 Education and Experience:

- Degree and/or certification in Supply Chain Management preferred

- 5+ years’ managerial experience in supply chain or related field

- Spice or other manufacturing industry experience required

 Physical Demands:

- Standing or sitting for long periods of time.

- Must be capable of operating computers and other basic 

office equipment.

 Working Conditions:

- Fast paced office environment in manufacturing facility.

- Can be hot and dusty in production and warehouse areas.
