Bilingual Service Technician/Pre Sales Engineer

Our client offers integrated solutions for product identification and tracking. For more than six decades, they have been a leader in industrial inkjet printing, camera verification and numbering systems. Their products are developed and manufactured in Germany and sold in in more than 150 countries world-wide.

Job brief 

To support their strong growth, they are looking for a Service Technician/Pre-Sales Engineer to provide world-class technical support to their distributor and end-user customers via phone, email and on-site visits as required. This position will be supporting their best-in-class Industrial Continuous Inkjet products and is based out of their office in Alpharetta, GA. Successful candidates need to be energetic, with the desire to continually learn and apply learned knowledge to solve new challenges.

The preferred candidate has experience providing technical support for electro-mechanical systems in manufacturing industries.

You'll be part of our existing Technical Support team - and perform a variety of tasks in-house and at customer sites.

They are looking for a team player, someone with a positive and can-do attitude who can make a positive contribution to our team and our culture.

Overnight travel will vary but could be up to 40-50% national travel, and periodically international.

Responsibilities

1.Travel to support our distributor partners in the field. This may require overnight travel.

2. Provide phone and email support to customers.

3. Perform testing of parts and components reported to have failed - handle RMA paperwork.

4. Perform print application samples in our sample lab for direct sales and distributors.

5. Participate in technical training of our distributor service technicians.

6. Assistance in other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, speaking, reading and writing
  • Ability to commute to office in Alpharetta, GA
  • Individuals who recently completed a technical degree in electronics or related field is urged to apply
  • Practical Experience- A strong mechanical aptitude and ability to apply past experience to solve new challenges.
  • Adaptability - Being able to handle a wide-variety of tasks and projects on a single day, having the desire to actively learn new skills. Being able to perform effectively in an environment without close supervision or frequent and/or explicit direction.
  • Resourcefulness – excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, ability to work collaboratively with other technical resources to solve complex technical problems.
  • Technical Agility - Applied knowledge of mechanical, electronics, hydraulics, software topics.
  • Sense of Urgency - Drive, self-motivation and energy to take action and initiative.
  • Communication Skills – ability to describe complex technical issues and their resolution verbally and in writing. Ability and willingness to spot and suggest process improvements to further develop the quality and efficiency of our technical support capability. Ability to train others with varying degrees of knowledge and experience.
  • Flexibility - Ability to travel domestically, sometimes overnight and at short notice. Ability to travel internationally.
  • Education & Experience - Technical Degree and/or relevant military training preferred; other backgrounds with emphasis on industrial maintenance or integration welcome to apply with relevant work history.
