Robotics Service Engineer
Location – Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana
First 1.5 years will be on site in Burns Harbor, IN
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support and installation of robotic/marking systems on site at customer locations
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally – up to 50% overnight
- Creation of system documentation including manuals for customers
- Conduct training sessions for customers
- Provide remote support for existing customers as needed
Skills
- Electrical schematics interpretation
Pneumatic schematics interpretation
Automation systems: PLC Editing/Modification: TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Factory talk (Advanced), - Protocols: Profinet, Ethernet/IP
- Robotics: ABB
- Multitasking
- Effective collaboration skills
- Ability to work with core Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines
- Familiarity with all field equipment, basic hand and power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, assembly drawings, and wiring schematics.
Experience
- Electrical maintenance: Engines, drives, electrical cabinets hardware, robots, cylinders
- Pneumatic & hydraulic maintenance
- Robotic teach pendant user
- Field installation of machinery
- Vision Systems
- At least three years in technical service, with experience in Automation (Robotics), PLCs, and interfaces.
Education
- Degree in Electrical or electromechanical engineering or related technical training
- Specialization in Robotics and Automation
