Vice President of Sales

The Vice President, Sales & Business Development is responsible for the successful execution of the sales strategy for the Company. Responsibilities include forecasting, advanced sales coaching, negotiation, and people recruitment, management, and development. Must have strong I/T sales, marketing and management experience. Relationships with hyperscale and enterprise I/T decision-makers highly desirable. Teamwork and a focus on execution are keys to success.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for generating sales and driving revenue at our clients wholesale and retail colocation data center in Charlotte, NC and new facilities deployed nationwide
  • Identification, recruitment and onboarding of talent
  • People management and coaching through positive and affirming techniques
  • Recruit and manage new business partners
  • Identify growth opportunities and align the organization on actions to realize these opportunities
  • Leverage existing relationships and generate new leads
  • Report on progress of the team against execution of the Annual Operating Plan and key sales initiatives.
  • Develop and foster a performance and results-driven culture throughout the sales team
  • Lead and assist in sales process and closure
  • Sales Pipeline management
  • Keep current on both Industry knowledge and prospect-related changes as they are related to generating or advancing opportunities
  • Meet/exceed sales objective

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of success leading regional sales teams with multiple locations; ideal range of experience is around 7-10 years
  • Candidates must have a significant focus selling into/managing those who have sold into enterprise level clients
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated track record of success having grown a small sales team to a larger scaled team
  • Candidates must have industry relevant sales experience; wholesale/retail data center colocation is ideal, but selling primary IT equipment or support equipment or IT services into enterprise clients will also work
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check
