Sales Manager Job Description

We are looking to add a Sales Manager in Middletown, OH to plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability, and to contribute to the executive management of the company. The Sales Manager will not carry a quota however will manage a team of sales representatives. Additionally, the Sales Manager will have management responsibilities of the design team members and customer service focused team members.

Expectations/Responsibilities of the Sales Manager

· Plan and implement marketing strategy in order to grow profitable sales

· Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development

· Formulate sales strategy to maximize customer satisfaction

· Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures and policy

· Maintain administration and relevant reporting and planning systems

· Maintain relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments

· Manage design and new business development

· Plan and manage internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims, and activities

· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals

· Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly

· Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates

· Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program

· Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals

· Assign sales territory to sales representatives

· Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales

· Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line

· Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product

Non – Negotiable Requirements

· Track record of success meeting/exceeding goals as a hands-on Sales Leader in a B2B Industry (ideally for a manufacturer) for at least 3-5 years

· 4-year degree is ideal, but will consider strong candidates whom possess all other qualifications

· Track record of growing the bottom line to drive solid revenue growth

o Not focused on top line growth alone

· Experience successfully building a book of business in a B2B sales role selling based on value over price

· Job consistency with no more than 2 jobs in 5 years

· Driving Record should not have any DUI or reckless operations as they will have to pass background check with a clean driving record

· Location to Plant must be within 20/25 miles, no more than a 45 minute commute

o If a relocation, must select address within that radius
