An emerging Hothouse Grower/Shipper/Importer from Mexico is in aggressive growth mode and hiring a sales and business development pro. This is a newly created role, will aggressively pursue and capture new sales in all profitable customer segments. (Retail, Broadline Foodservice, Wholesale, etc.) This position can be remote based, with routine travel to get in front of customers. (trade shows, presentations, and other industry events)
Responsibilities:
- Immediately utilize established contacts and relationships to establish quick “wins” while pursuing contracted sales programs.
- Execute short and long-term sales goals along with sales strategies by aligning with overall company goals.
- Partner with company management to develop and implement strategies for securing new accounts and achieving sales goals.
- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback.
- Routine domestic and occasional international travel for business, industry and sales visits.
- Target starting salary range is between $90k - $120k and 10% commission of net profit on new customer sales.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in vegetable category sales (cucumbers, peppers, squash, tomatoes, etc.)
- Accomplished track record working with all customer segments. (retail preferred)
- Experienced with produce quality, logistics, and retail program sales.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a sales strategy as well as getting results through new customer acquisition.
- Skilled negotiation skills and problem solver.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and business minded that’s looking to build something special.
- Proactive, results-driven, motivated self-starter with strong communication skills and integrity.
