Head Operations Officer

Serve as the Owner's operational complement, translating analytical frameworks into decisive field execution across three island locations. Drive production and accountability while maintaining quality standards in a systematic, data-driven culture. This role requires someone who thrives on rapid decision-making, team leadership, and field operations while respecting methodical, quality-focused ownership.

 

Operational Execution & Field Leadership

  • Make day-to-day operational decisions within owner-established frameworks to prevent bottlenecks
  • Lead and motivate 90+ person workforce across field and office operations with assertive, people-focused leadership
  • Execute owner-developed systems and processes across all three island locations with speed and precision
  • Drive real-time staffing, resource allocation, and project flow decisions to maintain 8-10 month backlog
  • Implement strategic initiatives including office and field role separation of PM position

     

Cultural Bridge & Communication

  • Translate owner's analytical directives into practical, motivational team communications
  • Serve as primary team motivator and management leader
  • Handle stakeholder relationships requiring diplomacy and influence
  • Conduct high-energy operations meetings that drive actionable outcomes
  • Buffer owner from situations requiring immediate interpersonal decisions
  • Work closely with other upper management to keep company aligned with goals

     

Team Development & Accountability

  • Hold Project Managers accountable through direct, assertive leadership
  • Build recruitment and retention programs to support growth plans
  • Coach and develop middle management to reduce owner dependency on daily operations
  • Create performance accountability structures that maintain quality while enabling faster execution

     

System Implementation & Process Optimization

  • Execute owner-designed analytical frameworks with field-practical modifications
  • Ensure seamless operational flow including billing handoffs and project tracking
  • Drive continuous improvement while maintaining systematic approaches
  • Support sales/marketing with operational insights and resource commitments


Required Qualifications 

  • College degree or professional trade certification
  • 10+ years project management with 3+ years leading large teams
  • Energetic, decisive leader comfortable making quick decisions
  • Assertive people leader who excels at motivation, accountability, and field execution
  • Proven ability to work with analytical, detail-oriented leadership while driving results
  • Advanced proficiency in operational software, budget analysis, and project management systems
  • Able to stand 2-4 hours, climb ladders and access scaffolding, and travel between island locations
  • Understands and respects local culture while maintaining performance standards

Success Metrics

  • Execution Speed: Decision turnaround time, project startup acceleration, operational flow improvement
  • Team Performance: Employee retention, engagement scores, promotion pipeline, field productivity
  • System Implementation: Successful rollout of owner-designed processes with practical field modifications
  • Business Impact: Revenue growth support, margin improvement, client satisfaction, market expansion readiness

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 annually
  • Benefits: Full medical/dental, 6 paid holidays, generous PTO, profitability-based profit sharing
  • Relocation Support: Available for qualified candidates
