Providence Staffing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a utility infrastructure project in Euharlee, GA. This role is 100% onsite and ideal for professionals with deep mechanical design experience in power generation or industrial environments.
Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour
Location: Euharlee, GA
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering design for retrofit, environmental, and new generation projects of small to medium scope.
- Develop and oversee designs including pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support, valve selection, P&ID development, and equipment layout.
- Prepare datasheets and technical specifications for pumps, tanks, valves, and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Provide technical leadership to designers and collaborate on project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations using software such as Pipe-Flo or similar tools.
- Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support system checkout and startup activities as needed.
- Collaborate closely with plant staff, project engineers, and vendors to ensure alignment and execution of design objectives.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including piping, valves, pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
- Software: Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as Pipe-Flo preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead design efforts, make independent decisions, and drive technical execution with minimal oversight.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills to support cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
- Availability: Must be available to work 100% onsite and adhere to PPE and site safety protocols.
