About Central City Concern:
Founded in 1979, Central City Concern (CCC) is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addictions. CCC values and celebrates diversity and we hire people who are skilled and passionate to meet our mission of instilling vitality and the opportunity for a second chance to those in our community.
Why Join the HRBP Team?
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) sits at the intersection between employee relations and aligning HR strategy with the program and leadership goals across the organization. This position is critical to ensuring employees can be successful in carrying out their roles while continuing to grow personally and professionally. Employees are the beating heart of every organization and at CCC 40% of our employees have come through our direct-service programs. This creates a uniquely inspiring workplace and upholds the core mission of Central City Concern to end homelessness through an integrated and innovative approach. The impact of our HRBPs are paramount to ensuring employees feel seen, valued, supported and encouraged while strategizing with leadership toward the continued enhancement and expanded reach of our services both internally and beyond our doors.
As a HRBP you are a primary conductor ensuring the inner-workings of the organization are running smoothly and effectively. You will be an advocate for all matters of an employee’s wellbeing, development, growth and success, and when navigating the complexities of ER investigations and labor relations. You will be a strategic guide and partner to leadership across the organization aligning HR strategy with employee and leadership development, talent acquisition, operations and program goals.
The Ideal Candidate:
We have a small team of HRBPs and are eager to bring a new member onboard who loves building relationships, working strategically and takes a hands-on approach to problem solving. You will thrive and be successful in this role if you are someone who brings both empathy and objectivity to all of your interactions; you are a systems-thinker and can understand issues from many angles; you are approachable and skilled in management; you’re experienced in a trauma-informed approach, and most importantly you are eager to make a positive impact in your community.
Qualified candidates will have experience as an HR generalist or within multiple HR disciplines (at least 5 years), as well as a strategic business partner within a complex work environment. Experience building strategic HR initiatives and new programs are a plus. This is a hybrid position and travel will be required between sites; having a driver’s license and a vehicle is required. Advanced knowledge of employment and labor laws is also required for this role. Lastly, the successful candidate will have the desire to work in a people-driven and front-facing role and a passion for CCC’s mission.
