Assistant Production Supervisor

Department: Operations Reports to: Plant Manager

Direct reports:

Mill room laboratory and material preparation production and shipping staff

 

Essential Functions:

 

Assist in directing production scheduling and ensuring all production quotas are met.

Provide oversight to Mill Room, Laboratory, Fabric and Rubber Cutting, Warehouse picking and packing operations

Serve as liaison between production leads, shipping clerk and plant manager in meeting production KPI’s to include, lead time, on time delivery, equipment uptime, and setup time,

In consultation with Plant Manager prioritize workflow and job sequence based on customer demand and Plant Manager’s direction.

Responsible for taking daily production counts, colleting production data, compiling and accurately updating manufacturing ERP system.

Collect other production related data and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as needed.

Maintain all paperwork and databases/real time.

Responsible for performing first time and updating existing production times studies.

Assist Plant Manager in implementing Lean manufacturing.

Assist Plant Manager in ensuring OSHA compliance.

Maintain inventory of all equipment repair parts and maintenance supplies.

Implement daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping and safety program and ensure OHSA compliance.

Assist Plant Manager in documenting all work functions and developing manufacturing SOP manual.

Maintain daily production, raw materials, WIP, and FG’s inventories.

Assist Plant Manager in conducting a quarterly and accurate physical inventory of Raw, WIP and FG’s.

Assist Plant Manager in implementing and ensuring adherence to all HR policies, procedures and time and attendance requirements.

Ensure all aspects of the plant, all equipment, and all tools are in safe operating order.

Assist and back-up shipping department when necessary.

When necessary, operate warehousing equipment/forklift/etc.

Qualifications/Required/Preferred Skills:

 

5-10 years’ manufacturing/production supervision experience.

5-10 years’ people management experience.

Bilingual English/Spanish (highly preferred)

Strong time studies, data collection, and Lean Manufacturing experience. (2-3 years)

Strong math, data compilation, and analysis skills. (2-3 years)

Knowledge of low volume/high mix/shop manufacturing. (3 -5 years)

Strong equipment repair and maintenance program experience. (2-3 years)

Strong knowledge of CRM/ERP systems, SAP, DEAR or equivalent. (2-3 years)

Strong knowledge of safety laws and regulations/DEP and OSHA. (2-3 years)

Excellent interpersonal, stress management, and negotiating skills.

Excellent internal and external customer service skills.

Excellent planning, scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills.

Intermediate knowledge of project management practices and tools.

Excellent active listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Excellent computer application skills. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP/DEAR, Zoom, MS Teams

Highly organized and efficient, excellent at optimizing technology.

Associates degree in related field or 7 years equivalent experience.

Knowledge of rubber tubing Industry, preferred.
