Who We Are

Boyer Children’s Clinic has provided hope, compassion, and expert support to children with special needs and their families since 1942, with a particular focus on Early Intervention between birth to three years. We offer comprehensive services to build on the strengths of each child, with speech-language, occupational, and physical therapies, as well as early education programming, nurse coordination, medical consultation, and family support services. Our goal is to provide for all patients in our area regardless of ability to pay, and ensure that all children in our community have access to the life-changing care they need to thrive.

 

This Role

As our organization has grown and we’ve reached 70 employees, we have a need for an HR leader to support us on our journey ahead. This role will be both a member of our leadership team and the main point of contact for all of our diverse staff. This position will partner with Finance on benefits and payroll administration as well as support, grow, and retain our employee base on a day to day basis. In this role you will:

  • Provide HR leadership to the organization in order to build a positive and energetic place for employees to work

  • Share and advise on HR best practices

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws

  • Make recommendations and updates to Employee Handbook and Managers’ Handbook

  • Engage directly with all levels of employees at all locations with coaching, conflict mediation, and employee relations while applying an equity lens. This will include establishing office hours at both locations on a rotating basis

  • Work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to create employee programs and policies that promote organizational culture and vision while encouraging maximum performance and retention

  • Conduct new hire recruitment and develop job descriptions

  • Facilitate new employee orientationand training programs as necessary.

  • Responsible for enrolling/maintaining employees in benefit programs and COBRA, when applicable

  • Work with the finance payroll team to ensure that all employee transactions, such as new hires, changes, or terminations, are approved and processed in a timely manner

  • Work with accounting department and management team to monitor and enhance the timekeeping and payroll process

  • Conduct investigations and propose resolutions when necessary

  • Moderate between staff complaints

  • Conduct exit interviews, debrief leaders on feedback or trends and recommend changes based on findings

  • Administer all unemployment claims and attend unemployment hearings as needed

  • Assess and implement recruitment, retention and compensation strategies

  • Advise managers on counseling, terminations, performance feedback, leaves of absence, and time off

  • Prepare employee separation notices and related termination documentation

  • Other tasks as directed by supervisor

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • You know how to grow and develop people and teams

  • You are a self-starter who can research, learn and recommend in all areas of HR

  • You have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • You have well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life

  • You have at least three to five years of HR experience
