Sr. DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

  • 5+ years’ experience in DevOps and/or Infrastructure Engineering (or equivalent experience as a full stack Software Developer, responsible for coding either/both application and infrastructure)

  • Experience leveraging multiple methods of working such as CI/CD, Agile and a strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Strong understanding of branch/merge strategy, the development workflow and how it all ties back into an Agile engineering process

  • Strong experience using Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management, & Orchestration tools (Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Control M, etc)

  • Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

  • Systems architecture - including Unix, Linux (BSD, Arch, Ubuntu, Gentoo), OpenVMS, FlashCopy, HP/UX, Tru64.

  • Cloud and Virtualized Design - AWS, Containers, Clusters, Beowulf, Hadoop, Kubernetes

  • Scripting Languages - BASH, HTML, PHP,

  • Build and Release Management - ClearCase, GitHub, Apache, Make, CMake, Jenkins

  • GDL Environments

  • Basic networking knowledge; TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, routing and HTTP.

  • GPU Experience a huge plus

  • Be a thought leader within the company and someone for junior/mid-level engineers to look up to and learn from

  • Deep understanding of agile and lean principles with demonstrable success in leading enterprise-level IT process re-engineering and transformational projects using a client focused consultative approach

  • Machine Learning technologies

  • Drive best practices across the TechOps organization

 

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with infrastructure and/or related roles such as System Administration and DevOps

  • 5+ years of working with cloud architecture and services in multiple public clouds (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud)

  • 5+ years of experience in automation of code deployment across multiple cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, VMWare, and Openstack

  • 5+ years of experience with software configuration management systems

  • 5+ years of experience with virtualization and containerization architecture

  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Bash, Ansible, etc)

  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows group policies, and Linux integration with Active Directory

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to define, capture, interpret product/system requirements

  • Collaborative work style, especially in a highly virtual and cross-functional environment

  • Passionate, articulate, and positive

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Enjoys building great infrastructure to support internal and external facing systems

 

Education

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
