Leading, high growth real estate company in Los Angeles is looking for a motivated Tax Manager who will be responsible for overseeing federal, state, and local tax return reviews, investor reporting and leading strategic initiatives to support company goals and collaborate with other departments to address any tax-related issues.

**Hybrid 3 days/week in office**

**$175-$200 TOTAL COMP (base + full annual bonus)**

Responsibilities:

Tax Return Review & Coordination:

  • Manage the review of tax returns for property partnerships (federal, state, and local).
  • Oversee day-to-day tax team operations, ensuring timely delivery of tax returns.
  • Communicate effectively with various teams to ensure smooth tax filing processes.
  • Review tax estimates and returns for entities including partnerships, corporations, and other entities.
  • Oversee the filing process, ensuring all tax returns are submitted accurately and on time.

Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor tax team members, guiding them through complex tasks and fostering their professional growth.
  • Perform performance reviews, assess staffing and training needs.

Reporting:

  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure tax transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Provide detailed and clear communication on tax matters to leadership and external consultants.
  • Deliver investor reporting, addressing ad-hoc questions from stakeholders

Strategic Initiatives & Process Improvement:

  • Lead tax-related special projects and process optimization initiatives.
  • Drive tax accounting policy implementation and restructuring efforts.

Tax Compliance:

  • Review and interpret legal documents related to partnerships and corporations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, addressing notices and conducting research on tax-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in public accounting or tax department.
  • Strong expertise in partnership and corporate taxation at the federal and state levels.
  • Experience with real estate income tax and managing a tax team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and tax preparation software.
  • Advanced tax degree and/or CPA certification preferred
