A fast-growing, reputable publicly traded manufacturing company is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accounting Analyst. This is a high-impact role focused on standard costing, inventory accuracy, and financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
The candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and experience working in a public company setting with SOX compliance. This high visibility role will work directly with finance and operations leadership and be a key player within the company.
**$110-$125K base + 10% annual bonus**
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting across all manufacturing locations
- Partner with the supply chain team to investigate and reconcile inventory variances
- Maintain and calculate standard product costs, including direct and indirect components
- Analyze gross margin fluctuations and provide insights into cost drivers
- Support month-end close activities including COGS and inventory journal entries and reconciliations
- Reconcile gross profit related to distribution and sales
- Prepare and manage annual budgets related to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and gross margins
- Review monthly departmental P&Ls with operational leaders, comparing actuals vs. budget
- Assist in year-end physical inventory counts and support inventory audit processes
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX and internal controls
- Deliver financial analysis to support management decision-making and process improvements
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives that enhance financial reporting and controls
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5–7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Standard cost accounting experience is required
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling)
- Experience with public company financials and SOX compliance
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- CPA or CMA is a plus
