Leading global investment management firm is looking for an AVP of Corporate Tax & Investment Structuring.
*Hybrid 3 days/week in office*
*$240-$265K Total Comp + Substantial Equity
This highly visible position plays a critical role in providing tax structuring and advisory to the firm’s global investment portfolio.
The role demands a deep understanding of U.S. and international tax law as applied to complex investment structures, and coordination with internal teams to optimize tax outcomes and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities:
Investment Tax Structuring and Advisory
- Evaluate U.S. and non-U.S. tax implications of various investment vehicles.
- Structure investments for optimal tax efficiency, balancing return with risk.
- Collaborate with managers to allocate investments among company's entities to minimize tax liabilities.
Tax Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks such as:
- Non-U.S. entities creating U.S. taxable presence (ETBUS / PE risk).
- Improper asset placement within insurance-specific accounts.
Corporate Tax Planning & Legal Analysis
- Model and analyze tax reform impacts and their effect on effective tax rate.
- Assist with legal aspects of tax matters including expense allocation and entity structuring.
Compliance and Financial Reporting Support
- Partner with tax compliance/reporting teams to ensure:
- Accurate financial accounting for investments.
- Adherence to reporting and compliance standards across jurisdictions.
Cross-Border and International Taxation
- Analyze issues related to:
- Tax treaties, Subpart F, PFIC, FTCs, BEAT, PE risk, and transfer pricing
- Global initiatives such as OECD BEPS (Pillar Two).
- Withholding tax regimes and local compliance (UK and beyond).
Qualifications:
- JD required
- 8+ years of experience in corporate tax, ideally with:
- Exposure to structured private equity investment transactions
- Reinsurance or financial services industry experience (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
