Reputable, global investment management firm in Los Angeles is looking for a strong Senior Manager, Fund Accounting & Deal Operations. The role is focused on supporting and streamlining the end-to-end operational workflow for various deals.
This position involves collaboration across various teams, including investment professionals, legal, middle office, back office, and technology stakeholders, and will play a key role in centralizing and standardizing operational models for private asset transactions.
$165k-$180k Total Comp (base + annual bonus)
*Hybrid 3 days/week*
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support for Deals:
- Ensure readiness for deal transactions.
- Work with investment teams to facilitate smooth deal closures.
- Understand complex deal documents and translate them into actionable transaction events.
Middle Office Function:
- Lead navigation of complex deals by collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of private deals in the firm's accounting system.
Process Improvement & Transformation:
- Propose and execute strategic initiatives to improve the deal workflow.
- Identify opportunities to centralize and create scale while reducing operational risk.
- Report KPIs to senior leadership, analyze trends, and identify strategic opportunities for improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with auditors, custodians, fund administrators, and counterparties for private deal inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- 5+ years in investment/fund accounting, investment operations or middle office roles, preferably with private credit or real assets.
- Hands-on experience with reconciliation and navigating accounting systems
Technical Skills:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Power BI, and/or Python is a plus
Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various teams within the firm.
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle complex issues with sound judgment.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- MBA, CFA, or CPA is preferred but not necessary.
