The Controller position is a newly created role responsible for assisting the CFO and Finance department in maintaining financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Essential Functions

• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Maintain the general ledger
• Manage financial reporting, cash management and forecasting
• Partner with CFO and Executive Team to implement financial strategies
• Coordinating with the CFO on preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Creating departmental budgets
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• In conjunction with the CFO, oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Serve as a backup for Staff Accountant and Jr. Accountants
• Oversee accounting functions, such as, daily deposits, invoicing, payables, receivables, general ledger, Lock Box, ACH, merchant accounts, etc.
