What You'll Do: Be the Champion of Safety On-Site

  • Lead by example with daily participation in site safety routines like morning stretches and general contractor safety huddles.

  • Build strong relationships with field personnel, identifying risks early and providing practical, real-time solutions.

  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager and senior leadership to execute McKenney’s proactive safety strategies.

Your Daily Impact:

  • Site Inspections: Conduct multiple daily site walks, actively observing, correcting, and coaching around potential hazards. Partner with foremen to ensure tasks are performed safely.

  • Pre-Planning: Work closely with project teams to prepare Job Safety Analyses, support certifications, and coordinate site-specific training before work begins.

  • Equipment Safety: Inspect mobile equipment, tools, and PPE to ensure safety compliance and readiness.

  • Incident Response: Be first on-site for incident response. Secure the area, lead the root cause investigation, and implement corrective actions to ensure incidents aren’t repeated.

  • Safety Documentation & Compliance: Maintain clear, organized safety records and help manage customer-required safety admin, permits, and reporting.

What You Bring to the Team:

Required:

  • 3+ years of field safety experience in construction or related industries

  • OSHA 500 certification

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (federal or state-specific)

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience with a mechanical contractor

  • OSHA 510 certification

  • Able to walk and climb construction sites in all weather conditions
