Mechanical Design Engineer (Direct Hire)

Remedy Professional Services is currently aiding in the search for a direct-hire Mechanical Design Engineer.


Our client is a job shop in Lyons—this means exciting work that’s always different and never boring.


This position will be focused on drawing, designing, and estimating jobs, to include visiting customer sites to take measurements, etc. Looking for an outgoing personality that is comfortable speaking with customers on behalf of this company.



  • Performs a variety of engineering assignments to design products and product components to meet customer and industry standard specifications.
  • Travel to customer facilities/job site for project meetings and/or field measurements.
  • Specify the product and components through the creation of solid models, assemblies and related prints/drawings.
  • Actively involved in creating product specifications, developing engineering CAD drawings, routings and BOMS for manufacturing shop floor used in the manufacture of products.
  • Communicate specifications to suppliers, procurement, manufacturing and others, to ensure understanding of expectations as defined by engineering specifications.
  • May be required to work with other engineering or production disciplines to ensure proper implementation of products.
  • Creates and continuously improves engineering specifications for products and components that fulfill customer wants/needs and are capable of being produced reliably.
  • Scopes, prioritizes, completes and properly communicates engineering change requests (ECRs)



  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Capability to utilize AutoCAD 2D for part/assembly drawings, drawing take-offs for shop programming of manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiar with motors, drives, mechanical devices
  • Familiar with industrial electrical components
  • Electrical background


This position will pay up $70-80K, based on experience.
