General Description:Performs inspection of parts for quality, defects, appearance, and finishes to specifications, using dimensional and visual comparison methods.
Principal Accountabilities & Essential Functions:
-Evaluate molded parts for conformance to in-process procedures and samples.
-Perform visual inspection to standards for molded defects.
-Perform dimensional inspection to part prints.
-Communicate with production personnel to correct non-conformities.
-Write and log NCMR’s on non-conforming product.
-File gauges and samples as jobs finish.
-Maintain a clean, safe, orderly workplace.
-May perform first piece inspections.
-May measure and evaluate SPC data.
-May perform final inspection on product prior to shipment.
-May perform receiving inspection on incoming goods.
-Maintain knowledge of current quality practices.
-Assist in problem solving activities.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:High school or equivalent.
Training & Experience:6 - 12 months prior plastic manufacturing experience preferred.6 – 12 months prior technical knowledge or experience preferred.Must be able to read part prints and use inspection tools.Requires basic math skills, attention to detail, and excellent attendance as verified by past experience.
Working Relationships:Interpersonal skills as verified by past experience to work with all levels of employees.

Visual Acuity:Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading work instructions, using computers, and in inspection of product or employee work.
Hearing Ability:Ability to communicate with co-workers (in person or on the telephone).
-Noise levels from machines.
-Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
-Standing on concrete.
-Sitting, typing, or reading at a computer terminal for up to 7 hours.
-Fumes / Odors / Dust.
Use of Equipment:Inspection tools such as micrometers, verniers, and comparators.Office equipment – phone, fax, copier, computer, and calculator.
