Job Title: Transportation Designer (Bridge & Highway)

Location: Rochester, NY - Hybrid | Remote in Upstate NY 
Compensation: $40–$60 per hour

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a motivated Transportation Designer to contribute to the design and delivery of bridge and roadway projects. This role involves performing design tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project delivery efforts. Strong communication and writing skills are essential for assisting senior engineers in client communications and technical discussions.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take on increasingly challenging assignments with the potential for growth into a senior engineering role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bridge and highway design tasks under the direction of senior engineers.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, calculations, and construction plans.
• Assist senior engineers in client communications and technical discussions.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.
• Utilize MicroStation and Inroads for design tasks; AutoCAD skills are a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.).
• 2–7 years of experience in bridge and highway design.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.
• NY FE or NY PE license preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation; AutoCAD skills are helpful.
