As the Staff Systems Administration Engineer, you will design, implement, and support standard and customer infrastructure configurations to specific and secure program requirements, including but not limited to physical/virtual servers, databases, scripting languages, desktops, routers, switches, and firewalls. You will execute site asset management and proactive monitoring of servers, telephony, network, applications, and associated compute resources. You will also respond to and provide timely reporting of incidents from initiation through remediation, including disaster recovery and business continuity. Additionally, you will:

  • Operate with a cross-functional team, including product managers, development, customers, suppliers, and subject matter experts, in a matrix environment to establish complete business and functional requirements
  • Ensure projects are executed with process excellence, compliance, measurement, improvement, and control
  • Interact with customers (technical and non-technical), including consultation, design, collaboration, creativity, and presentation

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 4 years of experience in IT
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in one of the following areas: Networking including firewalls, LAN switching, VPNs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.); physical and virtual server; SAN storage management; server operating system administration including Windows and various versions of Linux
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors
  • Proven history of incident response, diagnostic activities, root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and advanced troubleshooting coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction, aligning with business goals
  • Experience with internal/external IT security principles, IDS/IPS, policy/contract/regulatory compliance reviews, risk-based IT security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
  • Experience with active directory management and directory architecture best practices is preferred but not required
