As the System Developer (Java 8), you will analyze requirements and design and develop application components and services according to specifications. You will understand application architecture, codebase, and resolve defects on time with quality. You will also perform systems analysis and prepare detailed documentation including software requirement specification, UML diagrams, use cases, test cases, and release notes. Additionally, you will:

• Ensure all activities are performed with quality and compliance by writing clean code with proper exception and error handling
• Assist DBA with database design
• Coordinate with Operations staff on deployment of applications
• Work with business partners to analyze and address support requests to include training
• Perform unit and system tests and, as needed, validation testing as well as bring good coverage on junit testing

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, computer applications, or science OR Master’s degree in engineering, technology, computer applications, or science
• At least 2 years of experience in the IT industry
• Excellent in Java 8 coding skills using Predicate, Lambda Expressions, Streams, Collections API, Concurrency API, and other features of Java 8.
• Good in data structures, multithreading, OOAD, and design patterns
• Hands on experience with JEE: Jdbc, hibernate, Jpa and Jms
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring MVC and Springboot
• Experience with web services such as Rest/SOAP
• Expert in debugging through local and virtual machines
• Good in writing DML and DDL queries using SQL, Pl/SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience testing with Junits and Mockito
• Experience with servers such as Tomcat 6 and 8.x.
• Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
• Strong logic, analysis, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal assistance and take ownership of given task
• Good team player with a positive attitude

Great Additional Skills:

• Experience with Linux/Unix, Git/SVN and Maven
